What I Do

As I have gotten older, I have started making distinctions between what I *can* do, and what I want to be doing. It’s a subtle distinction, but as I rebuild my online presence I want to be clear.

I am your part-time Web Content Strategist. So you have a web site, but have decided it’s time to kick it into a higher gear. You’re not getting the business leads from your site that you need and are hoping that your web site can play a more intregal part in generating income for you. Contact me. Together we can come up a plan that is best for you. Once we come up with a short- and medium-term strategy that’s right for you, I can connect you with the developers you need to implement the vision. I will manage them, make sure the project is on track and no corners are being cut, and make sure you’re happy with the results. You are not big enough to be able to hire a full time web content strategist, but you will get there soon with my help.

I am your part-time Copywriter. On the web, content is what counts. Customers need information, and they need motivation to act. You can have the best designed web site in the world, but if there is no content, all you have designed is a work of art. A site needs to be both well designed and informative. I’ve written books and have blogged regularly since 2002. Writing is my true passion, and I would love to help you with whatever writing needs you may have. People have asked for my help writing speeches, press releases, and other public announcements. Whether you message is straight-laced or you’d like to infuse a bit of my unique sense of humor, contact me and we can discuss the project.

I am your part-time Chief Marketing Officer. Having worked for one of the top marketing companies for the last 5 years, I have been exposed to some of the brightest minds in marketing. I am always full of ideas, and have an interesting take on the use of new media to promote products. I was one of the first on Facebook and Twitter, and recognized them early on as opportunities for companies to connect with their clients. They are not spam tools, but conversational tools. The landscape is constantly evolving as well, so while others are telling you that you have to establish a Twitter profile, I will be the only one saying that Twitter is not a good tool for businesses and you shouldn’t waste too much time trying to figure out ways to make money from it.

I hope to develop a long-term relationship with my clients, to the point where I understand your business as well as you do, and can make suggestions that will take it to a higher level. So click the Contact Me link to get our relationship started.
